Sinta Dewi is a gender specialist and is an Acclimatise Associate.
Sinta is a gender advisor, specialising on gender equality and social inclusion at the nexus between gender, disaster risk and climate change. She has more than 15 years of operational and technical experience with the UN (UNOCHA, UNDP, UN Women) and donor agencies (AUSaid, CIDA, GIZ, USAID) in Indonesia, Timor Leste, Thailand and Palestine. She has since worked extensively on gender mainstreaming in humanitarian response, disaster risk and climate change. She has also done considerable work on the integration of gender analysis into national and regional recovery and adaptation plans, program design, planning and implementation, gender related institutional development and capacity building, gender sensitive monitoring and evaluation and development of tools for post disaster needs assessment and loss and damage. She has led and/or involved in various research, assessments and evaluations for projects on disaster risk and climate change, particularly researching root causes of gender related vulnerabilities and resilience.
Sinta has authored numerous reports and contributor of chapters on gender and DRR in several published books. She holds MA in gender and Development from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Sussex University UK.
