Maya is a Climate Finance Analyst
Maya is a Climate Finance Analyst based in Oxford, with three years experience in the environment and climate change space. A Toronto-native, she previously worked at an international climate policy organisation, specialising in carbon pricing and carbon market design.
Maya holds an MSc in Sustainability and Social Innovation and a certificate in Energy and Finance from HEC Paris. In June 2019, Maya wrote her thesis on investigating how to unlock capital for clean technology innovation, particularly for start-ups in the stages from research and development, to commercial-ready scale. Before her masters in Paris, Maya completed the Environment and Business program with co-operative education at the University of Waterloo where she received her Bachelor of Environmental Studies, as well as a Diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment.
Maya is heavily involved in leadership roles within the environmental sector. She has sat on the board of an organisation that champions climate justice and Indigenous solidarity, and currently sits on the board for a youth-led organisation that educates youth across Canada on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She is also a Climate Reality Leader trained by Al Gore in 2017 and has her LEED Green Associate certificate. Maya is an avid traveller, having most recently gone to Rwanda.
Maya is a native English speaker, with a working knowledge of French and Punjabi.
