Maribel is a climate change adaptation and climate finance specialist and Senior Consultant
Maribel has over 15 years’ experience in climate change adaptation and finance, providing strategic guidance to governmental, multilateral and non-governmental organizations on integrating climate change into their decision-making processes and accessing climate finance. She has extensive expertise in climate change adaptation in the context of technical development cooperation and contributes to the development of National Adaptation Plans and the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions.Maribel provides strategic and technical advice on climate finance in developing countries and emerging economies, and helps build technical and institutional capacities for these issues.
She is an agricultural engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid with a specialization in economics and holds an MSc in Rural Development – Natural Resources Management from the Centre International de Hautes Études Agronomiques Méditerranéennes, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Geography from Paul Valéry University. She completed the UNEP and Frankfurt School of Management and Finance course “Certified Expert Climate and Renewable Energy Finance”.
Maribel is a qualified trainer for the GIZ Climate Finance Readiness program. She is fluent in Spanish, French and English.
