Alastair Baglee:
Technical Director
Alastair’s role as Technical Director is to expand our capabilities in the Water, Oil and Gas, Chemical and Mining sectors. Alastair brings a wealth of experience in terms of managing the risks that businesses, in these sectors, will need to deal with in terms of climate change. He will be at the core of Acclimatise’s work in advising companies on maintaining profitability and long-term performance.
Alastair joins us from WorleyParsons, the major international resources and energy company that provides professional engineering and project management services to the energy, resource and complex process industries.
At WorleyParsons, Alastair was their Regional EcoNomics™ Director for Europe & Africa, a role that incorporated business development and the instigation and directorship of an innovative sustainability service called EcoNomics™, based around risk management and environmental economics. This service created significant interest and traction with many of WorleyParsons’ largest customers.
In addition, Alastair led a number of important sectors for WorleyParsons, including Non-Financial Risk Management, Corporate Responsibility and Carbon Services (carbon markets, mitigation, carbon disclosure and adaptation). In 2007 – 2008, Alastair was a recipient of the John Grill Award for innovation and exemplary services to WorleyParsons in Europe.
Prior to working with WorleyParsons, Alastair worked as a geologist, hydrogeologist, water resource specialist and environmental and social impact assessment consultant for Southern Science and Southern Water in the UK and the global environmental consultancy Komex.
