Climate change strategies for Russian cities

Published|07.07.08

Acclimatise in partnership with Ecoline, a major Russian environmental organisation, will be working over the next two years to develop climate change strategies in Russia.

Ecoline

The project will provide support to the City of Moscow Government and five other major Russian cities as they assess the risks of climate change and develop mitigation and adaptation strategies.

A key part of the project will be the dissemination and publication of the project outputs. The project will develop a dialogue with other major urban areas including London, focussing on the practical steps cities can take to manage the impacts of inevitable climate change and reduce emissions. A project web site will be developed providing a resource for urban climate change management.

John Firth, Acclimatise CEO, said “We are very pleased to be working with Ecoline on this major Russian project. This project has an international significance and will provide a route-map for other urban areas.”

An interim project web site has been set up here. A new web site dedicated to the project will be available shortly.
