Our Managing Director, John Firth provides guidance on strategic direction for UKCIP through its Advisory Group.
We are members of the Business Council for Sustainable Development – United Kingdom (BCSD) which is affiliated to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. We support the work of the BCSD and its focus on the practical implementation of sustainable development values and the promotion of sustainable development as a key to world class business standards and new business opportunities.
Acclimatise supports the aims and objectives of the Iwokrama International Centre for Rain Forest Conservation and Development in Guyana. The Centre manages the nearly one million acre (371,000 hectares) Iwokrama Forest in central Guyana to show how tropical forests can be conserved and sustainably used to provide ecological, social and economic benefits to local, national and international communities. Acclimatise provides pro bono advice and guidance on adapting to inevitable climate change to the International Board of Trustees.
Our Development Director, Richenda Connell sits on the TCPA’s Policy Council as an adviser on climate adaptation. The TCPA is an independent charity working to improve the art and science of town and country planning.
The aim of the London Climate Change Partnership is to ensure that London is prepared for the impacts of climate change. Richenda sits on the LCCP Steering Groups and chairs its Financial Services sub-group.
Michelle Colley is a member of Loughborough University’s Innovative Manufacturing and Construction Research Centre (IMCRC) External Project Review Community, a panel of experts set up to assess the Centre’s research to enhance the processes, products and competitiveness of the UK’s manufacturing and construction industries.
Acclimatise is a member of the UK Social Investment Forum, working with others to promote socially responsible investment.
Acclimatise is a member of the CLIFFS network, an EPSRC-funded group which aims to improve forecasting of slope instability in the context of progressive climate change.
